Hope Mary

Born and raised in the green mountains of Vermont, I have been transplanted by God across the country to Fillmore, California- an old railroad town 20 miles from the coast.  Here we are raising our so far three children- Elijah, Henry, and Triona whom we call Tree, while expecting our newest little one this July.  We bought our first house last year and are enjoying making it a home.  There are plenty of dirt and trees and water and mountains to keep us all busy.

I met my husband at Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio-  you might have called him a hippy then but not now… he is a stud of a business professional and he makes me proud by trudging through a long commute and an office job with a smile and this very real joy which is one of the reasons I am so in love with him.  Together we’ve been students and youth/teen ministers, he a school counselor and I a music teacher, until we moved out here to be a part of a wonderful Catholic home-schooling community- an offshoot of St. Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA and to get closer with his family.  He is a savvy Insurance Broker and I a proud stay at home mom at age 27.

In my heart is a longing to raise my children to seek holiness while coming to God through the real beauties of life.  I spent my childhood enjoying my family all playing music around a fire, chickens and gardens and snow-forts outside, quiet walks though the woods, conversational cups of tea, prayers from the heart.  In essence, I love the simple life, the simple path, and I want to find that for myself and my children.
